Top therapists in Illinois accepting new patients
I believe healing happens when you feel truly seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are. Therapy doesn’t have to feel cold or clinical—it can be genuine, collaborative, and even include moments of laughter along the way.
I earned my Bachelor of Social Work from Western Illinois University and my Master of Social Work from Arizona State University. I’ve been practicing as a master’s-level social worker since 2010 and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for the past three years. I’m also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective, evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences.
I received my Master's in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2014. My clinical values are deeply rooted in the ethos of social work, which is that to understand any person, you must understand the context of their life. This includes your family of origin, socioeconomic status, any discrimination you face, and your religious or spiritual belief system. All of these parts of your life will be essential to bring into the therapy space to understand best what ails you and where we might find remedies within you and your community.
Hello, my name is Amanda Grippi. I am a licensed counselor in both Missouri and Illinois. I earned my Master's degree from Southern Illinois University with a focus in community psychology and I have been in practice for over 20 years. In addition to helping people with Anxiety and Depression, I have advanced training in neurodivergence including ADHD and Autism as well as trauma. I also have extensive experience working with members who identify as LGBTQ+.
I help children, adolescents, and adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, bipolar disorder, grief, and life’s challenges so they can feel more confident, resilient, and connected to themselves. If you’ve spent years taking care of everyone else and feel like you’ve lost yourself along the way, therapy can help you reconnect with your needs, build healthy coping skills, and move toward the life you want.
What would your life become if you truly met yourself? This is what I help my clients experience. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership—one where your voice holds equal weight and healing unfolds in a space that feels safe, open, and free of judgment.
If anxiety, perfectionism, or self-doubt have been weighing on you— or you’re longing for a space where your faith and values are truly welcomed—you’ve come to the right place.
I offer a gentle, deeply empathetic environment where you can completely let your guard down. In our sessions, there is no judgment—only safety, warmth, and room to express your true feelings. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with over 10 years of experience working with clients to navigate through challenging issues.
Becoming a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor has been one of my most cherished accomplishments allowing me to provide premium mental health services to my clients. I earned my MS in Counseling from National-Louis University graduating with honors. With over 25 years of experience helping others achieve their mental health goals. I am also a Certified Christian Mental Health Coach. I welcome all clients including those who would like to include their faith in their therapeutic process.
