Hi! My name is Dawn Gutierrez. I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare.

My clinical experience spans across Family Health, Women's Health, Behavioral Health, Emergency and Trauma comprehensive care at the Military Hospital for over 15 years. I then specialized in gender-affirming services such as hormone therapy and ongoing care for transgender and gender-diverse individuals. While providing care for the LGBQTIA community, I was drawn to continuing my education in Mental Health Care to provide Psychiatric services to this community as well.

I approach each patient with respect for their lived experience, identity, and goals, emphasizing collaborative decision-making and individualized treatment plans. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, clinical excellence, and a strong belief that affirming, accessible healthcare is essential to both mental and physical well-being.

I have extensive experience delivering care through both telehealth and in-clinic settings, allowing me to meet patients where they are and reduce barriers to access. Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family, which brings balance to the work I love. Caring for others—both at home and in my practice—is at the heart of who I am.

I earned my MSN from Northern Kentucky University, and I bring over six years of psychiatric experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I currently hold inpatient privileges at three hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which keeps me connected to full spectrum of mental health care. I work with patients ages 5 and up treating a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and more. My approach combines careful medication management with genuine listening because you're more than diagnosis.
